Lead Refining

Refined Lead: Refined lead is lead from which impurities have been removed using metallurgical methods. The grade of refined lead is at least 99.85% Pb. Refined lead is marketed in four different categories:

Pure Lead: Highly refined lead with a high purity level. (99.99%)
Chemical Lead: High-purity lead from which silver has not been removed. (99.87%)
Acid-Copper Lead: Lead obtained by adding copper to refined lead. (99.91%)
Standard Silver-Free Lead: Refined lead with silver removed. (99.85%)
The above classification is based on the chemical requirements outlined in the ASTM B29-55 specification for ingot lead.

“We produce only pure refined lead.”

Applications of Pure Refined Lead Sheets:

Shielding material in radiology applications (in sheet and brick form)
Shielding in environments with high radioactivity
NDT industrial radiography applications
Areas involving nuclear energy and nuclear medicine activities
